Mobility vs. Flexibility

“Stretch it out!” How many times have you heard that? But here’s the thing: not all tightness is created equal. Do you need mobility, or do you need flexibility? And what’s the difference?

Flexibility is your muscles’ ability to stretch. Mobility, on the other hand, is about how well your joints move through their full range of motion. You might have all the flexibility in the world, but if your mobility is no good, you’re still setting yourself up for pain and injuries.
Even more, some “tight” muscles aren’t actually tight—they’re weak or short. Stretching them won’t solve the problem and might even make things worse. Instead, you need targeted exercises to strengthen or lengthen the muscle properly.
Before you spend another hour on that yoga mat wondering why your hamstrings still hate you, let us help. We’ll teach you what your body actually needs to move better, feel better, and crush your summer activities.
