Although he missed the season, Samuel gained an interest in the field by seeing how his knee could improve with various exercises. It was at that point he decided to pursue a career in physical therapy. Samuel attended Stony Brook University in NY. Since graduating with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011, he worked in various settings including: hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home-care, and outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. In his personal life he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, baking, reading comic books, and watching his New York Giants.
